Non-ajax implementations do not fill the screen automatically so you will have to click the 'display matching records' button after you enter your search criteria.

Step 1: Candidate Name. Type part of the name and press "Find". OR, leave blank and proceed to step 2.
At this time, the text must exist in the candidate name description exactly as typed: Daley Richard will not match but Richard J. Daley will. The safest option is just 'Daley' alone and then proceed to step 2 to narrow down to the candidate you want.
Step 2: Filter Results. You can limit your search by checking particular political offices, years or political parties.
As you check items, then candidates will be limited to the items you checked.
Step 3: Choose Item. All items that match your search (or at least the first 200!) will appear at the bottom of the screen. Just click one to go a candidates details page
Example: Find all people named John who have run for Clerk, Treasurer or Alderman in the 1980s. The following steps can be done in any order:
- Type John in the Candidate Name text box.
- Click the years from the 1980s. The first year will cause most of the available choices to go away. As you add years, the appropriate items will show up again.
- Click Alderman, Treasurer and Clerk to limit to those items
